Since its November 2OO9 launch, this iPhone and Android mobile app has been downloaded by more than 7O,OOO users and represents a major advance in craft beer education and awareness, with barcode scanning technology, a GPS beer finder and the ability to manage favorite beers, brewers and places to buy beer. “NBWA is proud to recognize L. Knife & Son with the 2O1O Craft Beer Distributor Recognition Award for its efforts to help strengthen the craft beer segment and for bringing a wide choice and variety of craft beers to consumers,” said NBWA President Craig Purser. “L. Knife & Son and its hardworking employees have shown dedication to delivering unique and innovative craft beers to consumers by stocking store shelves with these brands.” BA President Charlie Papazian added, “America’s beer drinkers are experiencing an unprecedented variety of beer in the marketplace. The exceptional efforts of beer distributors like L. Knife & Son to educate licensed alcohol retailers and consumers about craft beers have helped to expand the market and build widespread enthusiasm for craft beer among American consumers.”
“The entrepreneurial spirit of craft brewers continues to add energy and excitement to the American beer industry, and it is this excitement that fuels the more than 15OO breweries in the US,” said Purser. “The craft beer category continues to grow thanks in part to the strong relationship between craft brewers and beer distributors.”
