WINE ICE CREAM – A PERFECT PAIRING

Ben & Jerry’s watch out. There’s a hot new flavor out there that people can’t get enough of: Wine Ice Cream. Made by Mercer’s Dairy in upstate New York, the award-winning ice cream is available in several flavors that combine traditional ice cream favorites with popular wine varietals. All the wines used are from New York. There are four flavors: Riesling, Red Raspberry Chardonnay, Cherry Merlot, and Chocolate Cabernet. As these treats contain actual wine (5%ABV), customers must be 21 to purchase the ice cream. Retailing for about $8 a pint, the sweet treats aren’t cheap but rave reviews would indicate they’re worth it. And for the serious ice cream and wine fan, they come with tasting notes as well. For info go to mercersdairy.com.
