BEER FLAVORED JELLY BEANS

LIKE JELLY BEANS could possibly get any yummier!  For more than 1OO years, the Jelly Belly company has been a leading name in the jelly bean industry, with flavors like Buttered Popcorn, Toasted Marshmallow and Bubble Gum.  Now comes perhaps the best one yet: Draft Beer was debuted as the newest flavor.  The latest addition is one that has been three years in the making.  To pay homage to Jelly Belly’s German ancestry, the company matched the taste to a Hefeweizen ale.  “The recipe includes top secret ingredients, but I can tell you it contains no alcohol,” Ambrose Lee, Jelly Belly’s research and development manager, said.  While that detail has some disappointed, others have taken to Twitter to announce their enthusiasm about the new bite-size treat.  And of course, although they contain no alcohol, that doesn’t stop people from complaining that the “beer beans” are being inappropriately marketed to minors.  But in reality, Jelly Belly has been producing alcohol-inspired flavors since 1977 including Strawberry Daiquiri, Margarita, Piña Colada and Mai Tai, all of which do not contain any alcohol.  Personally, we’d very much like to see Draft Beer beans in our Easter basket!
