BEER BROWNIES? MMMMM

Now this is a trend to get behind.  For several years chefs have increasingly been using craft beer as an ingredient in their dishes.  Now, a growing number of pastry chefs are baking with beer with delectable results such as chocolate stout brownies, porter cupcakes and salted beer caramels.  The intricate flavors of many craft brews as well as their diverse spices make them ideal for incorporating into desserts.  Execution, however, can be difficult.  Too much and it’s a soupy mess, too little and you can’t tell the beer’s flavors are in there.  Lots and lots of sampling and experimenting is typically required but isn’t that the fun part of the job?  For more information go to craftbeer.com.
