VALLEY of the MOON
2OO9 ROSATO di SANGIOVESE
Fresh, crisp and brimming with fruit, this rosé has a medium to full-bodied red fruit character together with generous natural acidity. To gain the wine’s brilliant color, the crushed grapes and juice receive an overnight soak before pressing. The bright pink juice is then fermented slowly at low temperatures in small stainless steel tanks. Bottled soon after fermentation, the young wine has forward aromas of raspberry, cranberry and strawberry. The flavors are pomegranate, cranberry and blood orange. Recommended to be served lightly chilled, it pairs well with a range of foods, from spicy Asian dishes to picnic fare. Only 13OO cases were produced. Suggested retail is $14. Available from Horizon Beverage Company.
